The problem
Nobody watches the plant room at night - by morning the floor is flooded and equipment is burnt; a single-point water rope covers little area, and an alarm that only sounds on site is useless when no one is there.
Capability
Water leak monitoring system made of an alarm host, leak sensing detectors, a sounder beacon and network notification. The host takes 8 or 16 detectors on a 4-core daisy chain, drives one sounder over 2 cores and shows the alarm loop number on an LED display; alarms also push to a mobile phone. Detector: DC12V water sensor in a fully potted die-cast zinc housing, 47x30x30mm, 1.5mm alarm height, 0.031W standby and 0.21W in alarm, normally-open (alarm on water) or normally-closed (alarm on water loss) versions, dry contact relay output; 1m AVVR 5x0.3mm2 cable as standard, M3x12 screws at 41mm pitch; -10 to 60C and 20-95 percent RH non-condensing. The system runs stand-alone or feeds a BMS, PLC or SCADA through dry contacts for centralized monitoring and drain pump interlock.
